I would like to replace the stock exhaust on my 87 18'c it has a 270hp 350mag. I was wondering which manufacturer I should go with, all I hear is people say this one's no good or that one is no good, so I would like some input from the people that have similiar bouat/motor setups to chime in. I would also be interested to know where the best place to purchass the exhuast from.
Thanks Jim.

After dyno testing many different exhaust on many models The best dollar value per horse power is the Stainless marine. the best performance on that motoe is the CMI Tube, than Elbow tops. The others are just Knock offs of the idea. With your boat and engine combo, almost anything is better than stock, regardless of the weight issue. If it wer me on a budget I would go with the Stainless route. Of course everyone likes what they put on because it is better than stock. Theit are a number of 383 performance applications on the board using Stainless marine. They build only quality stuff. In fact many other companies buy t5he stuff from them and put their lable on them!

Can of worms! The SM's manifolds are aluminum like most other cast headers, I run Gils which also are aluminum. Both are coated and will last many years in salt.
