Is there anyway to tell the year of a pre-serial numbered Bravo ?
The parts catalogs seem to divide them up differently.
'85 - '87, '88 - '89, '90 and newer seems to be the most popular.
What are the differences ?
thanks, bob
They all had numbers, quite small on the decal on the upper gear case. One side displayed ratio and the other the SN. I think port is ratio and stbd is SR, memory sucks these days!!!

Not a Bravo but the Minx's original Alpha had the # stamped onto the side of the upper gear case underneath the decal.
I found it after removing about 14 coats of paint.:eek!:

I just replaced my decals on my drives (Bravo 1x) and the serial #s were on the decal and also stamped in the upper gear housing under the decal thats on the port side of the drive. The "Mercury" decal.....

Thanks
Now I know where to scrape some paint.
It can use new decals.

The very early Bravos had a shorter bullet, about the same length as the Alpha, but with a larger diameter which led to blowout at relatively low speed. This was a fairly major problem that was corrected within the first year or two.
