When I get the whipple and imco shortie on the boat- what pitch hydro QIV should I try first? I'm running a 25p turbo 1 on the stock 454 right now. I'm guessing the EFI whipple will give me another 100hp.

14.5x29 you may even be able to spin a 31p

I have a two inch XR shorty behind an HP500EFI. I turn a 27 and 28 inch Hydro behind mine at 470Hp crankshaft all day long. At 485Hp, 454 mag + 100Hp, you should be right in the same neighborhood. I think these blades are 15.5 in this pitch range.

In three blades, I run a Precison TXP 28 and a Mirage "Ole Diablo" 29.
The Mirage is the fastest prop I have, but she attempts to slap me on a pretty consistent basis, just to show who is boss.

Finally, I have a Hydro P5 26, which makes the boat feel like a slot car.
Absolute hoot!

Jill likes the Hydros, because they provide the most stable ride and predictability, especially in big water, of all of the stable of choices.

So many props, so little time...

Cool, I have a line on a 28p QIV, I'll start with that.

Wow, it sounds like you are getting busy. How much boost are you planning to run?

Well that prop I found on OSO won't work, it's a lefty. Looks I need a right handed one.

As for boost- I'm planning on 5 psi. I'll what that does. There's also a 7 psi pulley in the kit (2.3L blower).

I think you should do a TXP30 with that setup or a Fusion 4 blade if rough water is in mind. If you don't have hydraulic steering prop lower and get it.

Catch 22 is running some 31" prop with the procharged 454. He's supposed to call me here in a couple minutes, I'll ask him if I remember.:bonk:

Catch runs a labbed 31 Hydro QIV, and he also has a non labbed 29 QIV when he is carrying a lot of weight. He also has a shorty.
