View Full Version : Poll: What Will Be George Carter's Next Project?

Carl C

GCarter has been a little secretive about his next project even though it appears he has something in the works. What could it be?

Old thread; Now closed.

I think he mentioned he was looking at something other than another Minx, plus his was perfect. He also said he liked sitting "in" the boat and especially not getting wet. 16 and 18 classic are out.

I say "other Donzi".

I say "other Donzi".

I say "other Donzi," too. Specifically, I'm guessing a Hornet III, the 21 footer.

What do I win, George?

Oh, and I have a name..... By-Passed You!

I noticed all kinds of Hornets for sale this winter on the internet. Good call gold-n-rod.

Whatever it is, even if it turns out even half as nice as his Minx, it will be one rockin' Donzi as George seemed to be meticulous with his Minx.

'toon boat

Carl C

'toon boat Only if it's that one with the 525. I voted for the 22C but now I'm thinking Corsican.

When I spoke with George about buying his Minx, he stated he like sitting "in" his boat, not on top of it. I know the 22 is a different beast than the 16 and 18, but I still think the Classics are out. A better question is- Where is George for all this fun?

If he is looking for suggestions, can anyone think of anyone on these boards who might have an opinion to which boat he should restore?:bonk: :bonk: :bonk:

Hornet II or Cig 20 are my suggestions!:bonk:  :eek!:

I voted a 22. As we were FLYING through the air in Sarasota last fall in his Minx he mentioned something about how he wished he had an extra couple of feet!

I know it doesn't rule out all of the other choices....BUT

I still have a hard time thinking that he parted with something that he put so much time into.

George,
I have a 33 z and a 28 Magnum that I can grab for ya.

Hornet II or Cig 20 are my suggestions!:bonk:  :eek!: There have been several posts that indicate that George already has a good idea what will be next. Maybe he's negotiating the deal. Several members seem to be "in the know". Dw I think your two suggestions are both good possibilities. I should have included the Hornet as an option. If he goes non-Donzi I think it would have to be a Cig 20. The suspence is killing me.:)

Carl C

he's not going to get rid of a 20, to buy another 20... George seems to enjoy restoring boats maybe more than using them. That's why I don't give a lot of weight to the "sit in" comment. Hey, George, will this next boat be a keeper?

I've owned both a 22 and a Minx, to be honest, the ride isn't that much different, but the Minx just has a more "fun" feel to it. It was my favorite boat to drive I ever owned.

I'd like to see him bring an old Formula 233 back to it's original shape. There are many of them out there that have been chopped up to fish boats, and brackets for weedeaters. It would be a nice riding boat also. Ask Poodle how his Whitewater rides (offspring of the 233).

I've got it - it's taking a while for George because of the travel to the hinterland - hope that trailer holds up for the trip south.

Why do I have the feeling that George's "next project" is already complete and will be debuting at the AOTH (which is late this week)? My guess is a top notch refinished Corsican (since that is what AOTH is honoring this year).

Methinks I hit the nail on the head in post 42. Contrary to popular belief, I just did some simple Donzi math. (2+1)+(-1)= Testerossa heading south. I even guessed exactly which boat apparently. I have no idea why buying a boat is held in such secrecy.
