Greetings once again fellow donzi lovers. I must say that I was looking forward to a decent winter after having to lay up the boat on 10-03 of 2006 due to dangerously low temps. As it turned out, I could have left it in another 3 months and been able to use it sparingly. Anyhoo, I need to know what is the most effective way to remove the tannin deposits on the hull bottom? I don't want to try any acid based stuff. Share your secrets here please. Thanks.

Vinegar??

Works on fresh water deposits from up here. Won't hurt to try it.

Quite awhile back Scot the Harbor Master posted about McGuires mag wheel cleaner, I tried it and now always have some on hand. Hose the trailer down but keep the boat dry then spray the McGuires on let it sit for a few minutes and hose it of it is amazing!

I use LimeAway. Very mild amount of acid. Spray bottles at WalMart are very cheap. In the household cleaner dept.

I always used Sno Bowl to remove tannin stains from the Suwannee River. It is a form of acid, phosphoric I believe. Comes right off, then hose it down.
