I have a 18 classic and was trying to remove the hoses off the back of the raw water pump (bravo drive).

Being on the bottom of the motor it's very difficult to get any leverage to pull the hoses. Are there any tricks? I'm about ready to give up.

Thanks,

Bill

The way I do it is, lay down on the top of the engine and reach down with your right arm as straight as possible so you can twist the hose while you pull it back off the pump......it is still not easy.

Replace it w/a Johnson crank driven sea water pump. Then it's on the front of the engine and quite a bit easier to get to.......
Also, you don't have to remove the hoses to rebuild the pump.
It's a win/win situation for you.
