I just replaced my Interstate battery with a new Optima and I have a small issue. The new battery is about 2" shorter than the old one and I had to install some shims to get the battery box bolts to tighten down. I was wondering if anyone knows how to track down shorter battery box hold down bolts. It looks a bit half arsed with the shims and all thread would be worse. My battery box and studs looks similar to the Stainless Marine version (http://www.stainlessmarine.com/access8.html). Any help would be appreciated.

I assume you have an Optima 34 battery. I would just buy a battery box from Eddie Marine and be done with the issue. I have a used box for sale in the Platimum finish for cheap if you are interested. PM me.

no offence, those batterys look cool but are a waste of money...i use to be a dealer for them and had alot of them go bad...if you dont keep them charged you have a tuff time getting them to hold a charge..they are vary tempermental....i would go back to the interstate,i have hav the same interstate batterys in my boat since 2001 and plan on using the same batterys this coming season..

I buy all my marine batteries at Sam's Club. 1000 CCA for $49, you can't beat it. They seem to hold up well, I haven't changed one yet.
