bought a clean hull with a merc i/o and 350 chevy have a 93 454 omc engine that i didnt use in my other boat project and was thinking of a engine swap would i have to move he engine mounts that are attached to the stringers i'm guessing yes also will the i/o take the power change i have new guages and wiring loom

or is it even worth it since the extra weight worth the hp difference

It may have the original pre-Alpha mercruiser MR drive, which was the stock drive in 1982, it's that or a TRS. All you need is the correct merc bell housing and you can bolt in the 454 to either the MR or TRS. The MR drive will last a while, then you can upgrade to a Bravo fairly easily. If its a TRS drive it will last longer, but the change to Bravo is tough.
