Very, very impressive. You have lots to be proud of there! Nice detail.

The foot throttle is an In-control throttle.
I got it from CP Performance.

I would really like to go to Lake Powell. It's been a long time since I have been there. It all depends on my work schedule.

I would also like to get a group together for Lake Tahoe.

Now THIS is what I like to see....tasteful, greatly improved looks, details, and engineering! Far better than a factory boat!

The "In Control" foot throttle says it can be used in conjunction with a hand throttle. Did you do this?

That is absolutely stunning. I love the way you incorporated those custom features in a classic boat. I am doing some of the with my X-18 project. What kind of engine are you running in that?

Most of the time it's at my house on Clear Lake in Northern California.
I will also trailer it up to my home on Lake Tahoe when time permits.

I have only used it a few times at the end of last summer. It ran 70mph, but was definitely not dialed in carb and prop wise.

I have not set it up to be used with the hand throtttle at this point.
It was something that I was going to look into this Spring.

Do you have any pictures of how that hydraulic lift is mounted to the boat? I wanted to use one, but then I figured it wouldn't work because most hatches you could mount them to the side of the hull, but not with the classic type hatch.

Thanks to all for the comments.
This site has always been an inspiration for me .

Joe,
I had to glass tabs onto the side of the opening of the engine compartment. When I was designing my hatch I also glassed in the backing and bolts for the lift.
Here is a photo which shows it a little better:

Poodle,
This boat will never be sold!!

Would you help me set up a date and a location for our first meet in Tahoe?
I could handle the arangements if you could pick the resort. I was thinking in August. Maybe the weekend before or after the Classic Wooden boat show; plus it is as warm as it is going to get at Tahoe come August.

The lift works really well.

I also had to have a wedge billet spacer made for the scissor portion of the lift.
The hatch on the 18 smaller in the back than the front. So the lift has to match that angle for it to work correctly.

I have a house in South Lake Tahoe which I could host some after boating dining/gathering. My home is five minutes from the Lake in Heavenly Valley. Embassy Suites is a great place to stay at.
The rooms are large with a separate private bedroom and living area. Breakfast in included as well as a hosted happy hour from 4-6.
The hotel is right next to all the casinos and entertainment.

Launching in Tahoe Keys is easy and there is plenty of room for trailers.
We might be able to reserve some slips.
