Every year at the car shows manufacturers from Kia to Lamborghini show up and display their products. Every type of vehicle is there from mini vans to super cars. But at the boat show it seems that the high performance end is mostly ignored. Other than 3 Fountains and 2 Formulas stashed away in opposite corners, there were no high performance boats. How come manufacturers like Donzi, Baja, or Hustler don't come out to show off their products? I know high performnce boating is only a small portion of the market, but think how much attention they would grab next to all the little bass boats! Is the high concentration of wakeboard and fishing boats caused by Atlanta market or is what I saw typical in every city?

Don't come to Pensacola for the boat show. The only performance boat we had was a used Sunsation. Now if you want a CC they have you covered.

Atlanta boat show has always been that way. We usually go just to let the kids climb in and out of all the boats its a cheap day of entertainment since kids get in free but thats about it. I always where my donzi hat and when they try and sell me something i just kinda laugh and ask if they have anything that can outrun a donzi that pretty much ends the conversation with the sales guys.

Big difference between car and boat shows, the Miami Boat show being in a class by it self. The car shows are pretty much manufacture driven with very few, if any dealers, with displays. Boat shows like Atlanta are dealer driven, with some manufacture support. The big car shows are to show off their stuff and sell dreams. The boat shows are to sell boats during the show and generate prospects for spring sales. I'm not sure that we have a Donzi dealer in Atlanta right now. They had a dealer on Lanier pushing CC's that dropped Donzi about a year ago. The Baja dealer has always been at the Atlanta show.

Dave is exactly right. This show was a buyers show this year. They sold mostly pontoon boats and ski boats. The company I worked for until I retired ,Honda Marine sponsored the show. The last Donzi was there was when Park marine was a Donzi dealer. I get bored at Atlanta, so I didn't even go, Got a pizza and played in the garage with my boat. This area is big on bass boats, pontoon boats house boats, and ski boats. We do have some very fast boats here too just more of the others
