Mr X's former 22 may have been the fastest 22 - http://www.metacafe.com/watch/273795/donzi_22_classic_running_93_5_mph/

Try a search for "Mighty Mouse" to see what an 18 can do if set-up correctly and you have the balls start here http://www.donzi.net/forums/showpost.php?p=285606&postcount=4

And just where did Mighty Mouse end up?

Ted"s link is in Procharger install. The video linl is there. However a lake Winnie guy with a sc supposedly went above 95 with a modified engine. The fastest clasic I have actually seen was Gary Vaugn's 82 0r 83 with a 850 roots supercharged 540cid with 104.3 and a 104.5 other direction run. He actually had a alpha drive on it. That was about 5 years ago. I asked how was it and he said he did it twice and he he wouldn't do it again and had pulled the motor and sold it and the boat. Btw he is a pro racier retired, and was on the old Tale marine race team.

what if the question was changed to ask
who is the fastest driver? :)
rather than who has the fastest boat :boat:

I've been upwards of 110 in the Super Stock, but that's a very stable flatbottom. I would NOT want to go that fast in a hull with as much deadrise as the Donzis have.
Chine walking in a flat at speed is one thing. Chine walking at speed in a Deep Vee surely must be no picnic. I have to give guys like Gary Vaughn and GEOO their "props". That takes cajones.
My Donzi does just over 50 and I have no desire to make it any faster (but then, I do have a 110 mph flat to jump into whenever I feel the need for speed).

The fastest I've been eyewitness to was Catch 22's. Gps recall about 91 if I remember correctly. What amazes me, is he's doing it with a 454 and all the stuff will fit under a stock hatch.

Have to agree w/Cuda. Jim's boat is effortless. He spent a bit of time picking props. But since then, there's been no issues. If ya want to define "seamless" and "effortless", this is the boat.

It also has great dock manners.

Which can't necessarily be said about Mighty Mouse. As much as I respect George and his former boat, it was a matter of pointing at the dock, kill the engine, and paddle as neccesary. I always thought his wife was a great sport.

This conversation came up in the past and the guy on Lake George who I work with owns the Special Edition on Lake George. That boat runs along side my STV Euro at 99-100 with light chop and 1/4 tank. Whipple Charger. Last time I posted this, the thread disappeared. I never knew why. I would love to put a whipple on my 22' Blackhawk but I'm not sure the drive could take it.

Only cause Gina keeps him in check..
Oh wait, your talking about the boat right??

I think it's the other way around. I've been out with them when Gina's getting her swerve on. :biggrin.:

Jimmy, be sure to show Gina this post!

MP, I was talking to Jim this morning, and he thinks you may be refering to an incident at Dead River Vic's with a guy in a wooden boat. He said you had to quell that encounter yourself. :):eek!:

It happens all the time. those are so jealous that they ride rough waters with their leisure suits on. One of these guys came over to my dock complaining about our wakes. I told him to sign my petition that would make our cove a NO WAKE zone. He said "NO WAY" then he couldn't take his nephew tubing or wake boarding. I told him to go home and tell somebody who cares. This is the guy who wake boards and tubes less than 50 feet of my dock. This summer my water pump will be blasting through a fire nozzle 60 feet off my dock. Oh yes it is now my job to make him miserable.
