I have almost completed the cockpit restoration on my 1990 Black Widow. I swapped almost all to white (very white), leaving only the black and red stripe on the bolster. I had the logos redone, and think they came out pretty cool.

I was hoping to have this boat in the water March of 06 - now I'm trying for March of 07... (hot rod 496 is still on the ground, drive is in pieces under my desk...)

ps - Mucho thanks to Sam Pilato for all your help. :)

Does that have the OMC drive?

Well, it had a King Cobra setup - 460 Ford block. I pulled this and sold it the day I bought the boat (no desire to try and make it work, although it was running).

I have a 2004 496 that has been tweaked a little (hoping to pull about 500hp), and my "ingredient" drive is a Bravo XR - lower unit is still pending. (Probably going to run an IMCO -3"...)

I like the idea of a -3" shorty.. Prefer to do it that way here, you can always space down..

Last time I looked the the three-incher had some pretty major mods in the upper, as well as the lower. I think you would be commited to both pieces and the X-dim results.

Now the two-incher would allow for spacing down and messing around.

Purty interior, almost looks like McCleod.

To attach a -3" shorty to a Bravo upper, you need to relieve the back of the upper so that the prop will clear the cav plate. Other than this, no other mods are needed - it runs an otherwise stock upper unit.
