This boat is listed as a 22C but is obviously a Hornet III. Maybe he just mistakenly wanted to let people know it is 22 ft long and a Classic boat, not a 22 Classic. Nice looking boat though and current bid is only $6,600.00. It looks like it is worth way more than that.

Nice looking boat, although that is an unusual color.

While I love how single axle trailers handle, this one looks small for a 22' boat.

I wonder what the reserve is.

Inarguably a Hornet is more of a "Classic" than either the 18C or the 22C.
Possibly some sellers want to eliminate any confusion that they might have a "Genth era" or later model ..
Just a thought.

That boat has been pointed out here before. It is, or was until recently, in the upper Keys at some boat dealer's yard. I drove by it about three weeks ago. I think Poodle or Buizilla, or both, have seen it. By the way, the Hornet III is 21 feet, not 22. Originally it would have had a windshield. Nice boat and neat color, kinda like the "Fighting Lady Yellow" seen on many Palm Beach sportfish boats.

Just an oservation and maybe someone can help here. I thought Hornet III had a solid windshield with a small bowrider compartment just in front of the windshield. Perhaps I am wrong. This boat looks more like a regular hornet. The flared bow and taper just at the end simply look more like a Hornet than a Hornet III. Anyone have any insight on this one?

The original Hornet was a 19 footer. It came with the regular 5 seater layout and had a windscreen ,and the very rare and desireable 'Benchseat' model.
The Hornet II and the Hornet III were stretched to 21' and all were the 5 seater layout but had amongst other things different windscreens. They were and still are very pretty boats.
You may be thinking of the Criterion which in some formats had the seating in front of the windscreen that you mention.(Although not all of them did)

Pretty sure it's a III, and one of the last years it was built. The II's are earlier.

I found this and it looks completely different than the hornet III listed on e-bay. Notice the pointed bow and small seating area in front of the windshield. Now I am really confused. Any help?

The "other" red Hornet III on boatrader is really a Z model. All Hornets have a pronounced bow flare.
