A buddy of mine just bought a 04 Crownline. It only had 14 hours on it. The seller gave him a 30 day warantee on it. It was not shifting right so he took it too the shop to get it fixed. When he went to pick it up, he found the prop had a big chunk out of it and the skeg was bent (bad). He checks the hour meter on the boat and it's got 17.5 hours on it. It's still got break-in oil in it and they dogged it out for 3.5 hours! I told him he ought to tell them they just bought it. What do you all think?

I would have my lawyer tell them...but then I try to avoid conflict in my personal life...It get enough of that at work.

I wonder if having the key on but engine off runs the hour meter up? Just a possibility. Of course if they damaged the drive then they need to fix it.

My meter runs if the key is on, whether the motor is running or not.

My hour meter also runs when ever the key is on.

They have to fix the drive and prop !!!

Watched a local marine dealer try to launch the 34' go-fast without
being tied to the trailer. It slid off about 3 feet short of the water.
Took out both skegs. They launched and idled to the owners dock.
I could see the boat shaking from the shore.
Probably never said a word to the owner.
