I have been using Mercury filter 35-802885T. The local marine store is now telling me this filter has been replaced with the 35-866340K01. These filters look very different from one another. A few resources on-line confirm this change as well, but I'm still suspicious. Anyone know the real story? Am I safe using the updated 35-866340K01?

the lower the micron rating, the better the filtering quality...
I have been using the new filter design for about a year now.. NO problems on my boats or any customers boats.. I would not be afraid to use it.. Jamie / Lakeside
