My Restored 16 is that blue also, I think.
Plus, it's got the same kick-butt old-style wheel that I have..
Matty and Jerry said those wheels are rare.

Wow, I love it. I wonder if the reserve is reasonable...

It seems to me this boat was for sale for quite a while on boattraderonline.
I believe the hull is white with wide blue stripes on the sides.
I THINK the owner was asking $11,500 for it, so unless he has decided to just take what he can get, I'm guessing the reserve is probably close to that amount. Looks like a nice boat.

It looks like the boot stripe could be dark red, hence the dark red carpet. Odd combo, but I still dig it.

I had a 1976 X18 that was a white hull, with the Carolina (baby) blue stripe on the sides and down the middle of the deck. The accent on stripes were red. The seats were blue with red piping.

I just found some pictures of it. If I get a chance tonight I will scan some and post them. It is a cool looking combination.

MP, that goes along with Geo's old theory that the deck shape of the X-18 made them faster. So...your light blue X must really fly.

Thank you. I would love to have that boat back. I drove from Rockford, IL in 1985 ish, to Guilford, NH at the recommendation of DONZI after not being able to sell it locally. We quickly forget how things were BEFORE the internet, and information was quickly accessable to anyone looking.

I don't know if it shows in any of those pictures, but there is a transom mounted water pick up on the starboard side. This boat actually had an E-drive on it from the factory, but I couldn't afford the boat with that on it. They owner had a friend that really wanted it, so he swapped it with him, and knocked $1,500 off the price to me.

To be young and single. . . Not the best tow vehicle, but I towed over 2,500 miles worth of boat trailer with it.

A couple more. I was winterizing the boat in the transom shot. Apparently, 15 minutes wasn't long enough to run it with anti-freeze, as next spring I almost sank it on the first run out. Over the winter two freeze plugs pushed out. :eek!:

That Vette was sagging pretty nicely haha! :D

Thanks for the pics and the story. How much did you sell it for back then?
