I have never seen a lower unit quite like the one on this Cigarette 20; does anybody recognize the unit and the manufacturer. The upper unit appears to be a standard merc. unit.

Big but stream lined looks like it is made for some HP, wonder if it was a merc item.

I've seen a couple of those floating around at TNT before... I saw a restored 27 Magnum that had a pair of those with small blocks..

it's a std. TRS upper, with a #2 or #3 speedmaster lower i'm pretty sure..

When I saw it in person, I figured it was a speedmaster variation. But over on OSO in the cig section someone mentioned(maybe confirmed) it was a sternpower lower mated to a TRS upper......

I have a friend with a SternPower upper and lower on a 28 Pantera. Rock solid. They competed with the merc speedmasters in the 70s/80s. Needs a tranny tho.

Just did a search to see what I could find out about these drives, one of the threads said they were now Konrad wonder if it is true.

No question it is a stern power Garry usually puts them on the really big motors, unit needs a trans like a bam or huber trans, the unit is bigger then it looks

Nice pic Don, great looking leg,.. but,.. so much for laying on the Sun Pad.

Dock lines not melting will also be a challenge.

Hello , i have bought a cigarette 20 from 1976 from Spain and bring it to Stockholm. I will start to repair it and need if possible the number/colour of gelcoat with was used. (i am going to put new gelcoat). The boat is (bone) white with blue stripes. I thing it had a small block with trans 1 drive from the beginning. Now its a 454 with bravo drive from 1990-1995 ?
I have the hull number as i can read it : CRT 200600 I 2076 . I am not shure if its a 1 ore I in front of the 2076 ? I will send you pictures of the boat, as i want to make an original restoration. If anybody have something to bring clearence for me i will be very happy.

-------Sternpower must have more than one slippery design because there is a 27 Aero (Magnum Sport more or less) with some slippery looking Sternpowers that arent quite the same as these. Boats been around here for years but always seems to be broken during the season. Its been out in front of a local repair shop now for about 6/8 months.
-------There is also a pair on a 28 DONZI That I found about 3 months ago. My friend Chris M that builds the legends boats bought it thru me. Oh,,,,Its serial #1 and Brownie won the 1967 Miami-Nassau race with it. When raced by him it had twin FE Fords that were inline feeding the same propshaft. One faced back and one forward into the same V-drive. When returned to pleasure the propulsion set-up was changed out.......Bill S

The company I use, Minicraft of Florida ( www.minicraft.com ), doesn't show a listing for Cigarette....but any good fiberglass/gel supplier should be able to match something off of the boat.
