what would a alpha ss complete with transom be worth?

Rootsy
10-27-2006, 08:18 AM
that all depends on the condition of the drive and transom... internally and externally...

been sitting a while?

does it have an upgraded HD gearset?

has the drive ever come apart internally?

does it still have an internal waterpump?

transom assembly is nothing but a standard alpha Gen I transom assy you can buy all day long for about 2 - 400 bucks on ebay...

I would think $2,000.00 at the low end and $3,000.00 at the high end. At the end of the day it all comes down to how bad do you want it.

What were you running? I can't see 10mph with a prop change.

OK, This is the second time this week I've seen this new "Legend" discussed. I need some details on this. This is a new boat built in MI? There must be a story about the start of this company. The website is coming soon? I dig that boat. Are there any cockpit pics of it?

Red, I will find some time this fall or winter. This looks like tood good of a venture to not check it out first hand.

I showed the wife the pic of the 24 Legend and she liked it, a lot. I've been trying to size up my next boat. I need to sell one home, buy another and move before summer (Down to St. Joe, MI), but a new boat will be soon. I like how it doesn't look much bigger than a 22 Classic. The 24 Pantera is a nice boat, but I'm not sure I want the cabin. Anyway, this looks like it might be the ticket. I found some old pics of the Squadron 27's, which still look slick, but none of the 24. The 24 looks like a hot rod compared to the bigger, heavier looking 24 Firefox.

I look forward to hearing more about this deal and eventually seeing it first hand.

Dauley,

What type of wood was used for the dash? It looks like a Burl something something wood like the trim pieces Mercedes uses. Does anyone have a pic of the original Squadron 24? I can only find pics of the 27 in my books.

the 24 is a rare bird i think there were only a hand full made before don bought cigarette back
i know there were only 18 27s made and i own the last one buildt it even has a cigarette hin
if you search on oso for squadron there was a pix of a 24 about a year ago all white sitting on a lift out east
As for the Don Aronow name and why we can us it is we have a license agreement and we are carrying on his legancy building his 24 and 27 ft squadrons {LEGENDS }all hand laied and buildt to order. Don Aronows unparalleled accomplishments and legendary design will live on....

Nice looking boat. I with Rootsy though. How can they use the Aronow name? I like the seats and the throttles/shifter.
