Yep, looks like a Minx. They must have the year wrong too.

Looks like a Minx with a custom dash...
My dash is black with a different layout.

Yes, the dash is different than mine too,but everything else looks right, cup holders, grab bar.

Doesn't look like my dash either, year and length is wrong. Ken

That's a MINX all right. My Minx is registered, AND marked on the transom as an 1986 but according to Georges serial number list for the Minx, it was built in late 1985. Mine has the SAME Dash as the one in the picture. The instruments are "Faria", a Connecticut company. The length in the AD is wrong. Should be 20'. Based on the color scheme, the boat looks like a repaint. John

I'll go take a look at it. Give me about two hours to have another post up with some information (DMR, etc.)

I'll also see if I can get some additional pictures.

Okay... here's what I got.

It is a Minx.

The DMR is: DMR20007E585. So, it was built in May of '85, and is of the '85 model year.

I took a couple of pictures but could not get to the cockpit or engine areas. No one was around the marina.

The drive looks original. The tag number for it 446466 (at least from what I could make out).

Donzi Di,
What was your overall impression of the boat? Driver looks bad, but might be salvaged. Was it an Bravo or Alpha? Says new paint. How did it look?

By the way, in your picture of the boat, there is a red boat that you can just see the bow and windshield in the background. Looks kinda interesting and was just wondering if you got a look at it or knew what it was.

The drive is an Alpha drive.

My impression of the boat is that is in okay condition. The paint looked fine - although I will admit, I didn't look for blisters or anything.

As far as that red boat is concerned, I didn't get a good look at it. Cliff seems to think that it might be a Stingray.

If you are seriously interested in the boat, I can go look at it again and take more pictures.

Interesting how the Drive "corroded"....OR is that some kind of "Marine Grouth" that could be removed with a "ScotchBrite Pad" and a little elbow grease? The RAMS seem to be completely unaffected. Maybe new???? Just wondering. John

PS: Hull #7.

Here's some pictures of hull #2. See the similarity of the color schemes? It still belongs to the original owner and resides in Michigan.
I have to admit it looks better than mine. In fact I'm extremely envious of how this boat looks.
Any way, it seems there were some real color scheme differences in the first few boats from all the rest.

Maybe in the beginning, they wanted the "Minx" to have a distictly different look so as not to be mistaken for the "Classics". :lookaroun John

No need to be envious George, you still have him way beat in the cleat department. :)

I've never seen another Minx with my color scheme either, not with the blue gel bottom.
