I have a nearly mint condition Donzi Portfolio (catalog) in full color with a Blackwidow 30 centerfold. It’s a beautiful piece!

It will make a great to addition to your boat and it’s history.

Please make offer. Shipping will be added later.

(The white spots in the pictures is just the flash and shine from the catalog.)

Does anyone know the original cost for a 30' Black Widow back in 89-90? I am curious, I thought I once read they were $200,000.00! That seems like quite a bit of money especially back then.

I have the exact same catalog. Fun to look at and goes along with my 1990 24' Widow. No mine is not for sale. However, these Donzi items have been selling on ebay for incredible amounts of money for what they are.

The asking price for the 24' widow back in 1993 was around 60K. Mine sold for around 40K. I bought my boat from the original owner and have the original dealer paperwork to go with it.

I really doubt the 30' black widow ever sold for 200K My guess would be more like 80-100K. Remember back in early 90's the economy sucked, gas prices were high, and you had to pay a luxury tax on big dollar gas sucking items.

Is the portfolio still available? Does it feature the entire 90 line? I'm interested and new as a member, and dumb as a rock when it comes to how these things work. If available how do we connect? Thanks

I see you are in Mound, MN.
You can get a black/white copy of mine for free. Mine is not for sale.
Email me at joelek@joelek.com for your request and give me your contact info.
Mine is a 1990 portfolio and yes it is the entire line.
You will see me out on Minnetoka this year im sure. I sometimes launch out of Mound and park the truck/trailer by the VFW. You're not by chance the guy with the yellow Z-24 that looks like a black widow are ya? If so, you met me last year in the fall. I have the red/white genuine black widow that had all the work done on it.

You will have to contact the original poster of this thread (the guy saying he has one for sale) to find out if his is available or not.

extrmach's last post was 10-26-06 so he may have moved on. I have a 1988 portfolio with a damaged cover. I won't come off it real cheap but if anyone is interested let me know. I'm not trying to jack this thread; I just think that this guy is gone.

Yes I am still here!
I just have been in the middle of a big move from Seattle to New York.
I have the catalog but it is packed up. Are you still interested in it? I can dig it out when my stuff shows up on May 1st.

Anybody want a free electronic copy (digital camera of each page) let me know. I can email pics to ya.

I also have digital pics from a 1991 Oldsmobile Bravada brochure showing it towing a 1990 24' black widow (actually was my boat & trailer). How the F a Bravada towed it safely was beyond me. I had a V8 Dodge Dokata that did a 1/2 ass job and had to upgrade to a 1500 Ram. I think those Bravadas were only 6 bangers.

The suggested retail for the 1990 24' Black Widow I used to have was about $65K. It sold brand new in 1992 for around $45K. I bought it from the original owner and he had all the paperwork for it. Economy sucked back then and boats were not selling. Had to pay a gas guzzler luxery tax on big boats too.

My God, a 22C with a 460 King Cobra was more money than a 24 Black Widow with the same power.

With the "upscale" image that Donzi owners of 1990 must of felt, after

all the the boats have never been inexpensive, the marketing dept felt

secure enough in the brand to supply a hand typed

price list and couldn't even be bothered to center the "retail price list"

line.

What kind of image is a hand typed price list?

20 years ago the most people in an office knew how to type, not run word processors. Microsoft office didn't even exist yet! Word processing back then was Word Perfect or Word Star. Hand typed on company letter head was thought of as a high end professional document back then.

Joel, I realize that current desktop publishing wasn't around then but they did have typesetters, camera copy, and printers.

The 87 price list is a little more impressive
