Does anyone have any positive/negative input on the 23' Donzi Deck boat? How is the ride? What dilemas would be expected if the HP was increased on the 350 engine? Will these boats take a BBC?

Hey Steve, How's it going?

Watch out for Cracks. The deck boats were very susceptible to gel-kote cracking on the decks. Every one we sold ended up with cracks. The gel-kote was too thick on some parts of the deck, typically low points in the mold where the gel would puddle. Just check the corners and high points on the deck for repairs if you look at one. Otherwise I think they were a great boat, a good heavy wave crushing boat with lots of room and a blender. It would be a cool boat with a 496 or 502 but from what I remember the engine bay was pretty tight.

Thanks Scott and Rick.

I have my eyes on a step chine 98' hull. It looks real clean with a
trailer, for $13.5K. I know the performance is poor and I am interested in what a HP 383 would do for it.
