I bid on this boat and the guy called me. the high bidder didn't want the boat and he needs to sell it asap. he offered it to me for my last bid which was $1,200. yes. 1,200. A few days later I bought a 18' center console so I can't buy this guys boat as well. I would, but I can't imagine what I would hear from the family. I already have 3 boats and I don't need another 18....
I suggest somebody contacts the seller and grabs this boat asap...

Appreciate the heads up, but it sounds like a scammer. There were too many people who bid thousands more than your $1,200, many of them making multiple bids. It seems unlikely they would have turned down an offer to buy the boat.

After the bidding is ended, I don't know how to contact the seller anyway.

Yeah, I'd be skeptical going by his feedback. 1 positive, but the comment says "BAD EBAYER - NO $ TO COME THROUGH W/ DEAL & THEN LIES! TOTAL FRAUD!!!"

But man, that's a heck of a deal if it's legit. As N2O said, we have no way to contact the seller now unless we had bid on the item. You should buy it, then if it's a good boat I'll buy it from you. :D

second chance offers are the biggest scam on ebay now. trust no one.

it isn't really my job to show people how to use ebay, but anyone can still send a message to musgrove717. You can send a message to any active member whether they have a current listing or not and they can reply if they want to.

Mumblings about eBay in general are better placed in the "what ever" section.

Hey Formula Jr, I believe Ebay changed their policy on messaging other members. I think now unless you had bid on the item, you can't message a seller after the auction end. I tried messaging a seller of an item that had ended a while back, and twice Ebay kicked it back to me for not being involved in the auction.

SurfGreenTele,

I don't know what your engine preferences are, but there is a 1990 Sweet 16 listed in this for sale column that looks pretty clean, and is at $6,900 OBO.

That sound like might fit your criteria?

Thanks for the heads up N2O, I did see that one. Looks great, although I'd prefer to find V8 power w/thru hulls if possible. But the main thing is that I won't really have the $$$ for a few months. Unless I can find something in good working order for around $1200...yeah right. :D

I have tried to contact the seller fo the white and blue Donzi 16 on eBay every day since the ad came out, he never replied. I live near Paeadena, MD and wanted to go take a look. No response. The person leaving the "positive" but really negative feedback said that posting was also a scam adn don't trust him. If it sounds too good to be true it probably is! :shark:
