The 'Sting' *looks* to be a 21' Scorpion. I believe they were built in Ontario during the late 80's. My uncles best friend ordered a bare hull, then rigged it himself with a 454mag/bravo combo. Seem to recall it was good for nearly 70...
Incidentally, this same guy was one of (if not, the) first to pull a hull out of Lenny's 18' mold.

Thanks Ed. Ya, I'd be willing to bet I'm the only member from Alberta...not much in the way of water in these parts. Been here for 3 1/2yrs, spent the first 30 in Victoria...

Appears to be a late 70's 21' I/O Challenger. Pics of an outboard version.

Challenger or shadow? FF2 says it's a challenger.
2 others claim it to be a shadow...hmmm.. At least a 1/2 dozen copies of that hull out there.

The One I Remember Was All Black With A Picture Of A Bee Painted On The Side + Sting I Think . It Had A Scoop On The Hatch . Don't Remember The Make Though , Probably 30 + Years Ago .

That Sting looks awesome
Hey Ryan, I'm probably heading to Ed. next summer. Is it possible to boat the river?

Yeller,
You could run your 16C (jet powered, right?), but I wouldn't take an i/o anywhere near it. There are several lakes within 30-60mins. of the city that are fine for boating...
What's bringing you to the great white north?

The boat is 1 1977 21 Challenger. I have a 1978. We (Performance Marine) have always maintained it. Jim DeNooyer had it first. It had a turbocharged SBC out of his Shadow Cat and with 380K-Planes the boat would just bump 100, in any water. Then, my uncle boat it, run a stock 454 (seen in the picture) and ran it for about 15 yrs. The still ran 80. Then he sold it to Sam Castro who still has it now.
