Oh. Not what I expected. I thought it might be something to do with a Flying Wing, or one of their old outboards.

1974 17' Switzer, 1976 150 I6 Merc short shaft, 24" solid hub chopper prop. Shot at Lake Travis, TX in 1981.

Sorry, back to your original question.

I had a blue one like that with a 150 Black max on it.. It was a neat boat.. It was built pretty solid.. Jamie / Lakeside

Jamie,

I don't know if it was because this was my first real go-fast or what, but I had a blast with that boat. In spite of the fact that it was a horrible color combination (in my opinion), I had to put a complete new interior in it (I hate back/back seats), covert the engine from a long shaft to a short shaft, etc., but I wish I had it back sometimes. It was very stable, turned well, and ran out pretty well.

A guy I used to boat with had a 16' Checkmate that originally had a straight 6 Merc 150, that he replaced with a Black Max V6 150, and it made a HUGE improvement in his performance. I always wondered how this would have run with more engine.

Jamie,

I just came across this. 1975 17' Blue Switzer. Out in your neck of the woods. $6,500!? Seems kind of steep.

And again. How lucky? 1974 17 Blue, and this time only asking $2,750.
