I have some m.s.r.p information ...but i am looking for a real number from somebody that been through it ...

i am new to this powerboat fun and am looking for some guidance .... i am not looking for a new dealer  ... i am looking for sanity checks and help from the user community.:boggled:
(i am comtemplating fountain, formula, or donzi ... gathering notes ... like what i see on the 27ZR).

If you are going to stay north of the border you can almost bank on adding 20% to the price you might get from a US dealer. Just look at the AutoTrader.ca prices vs Boattaderonline.com prices for classics that are in stock north and south...

Canadian 05 16 - $40,000 CND or $35,850 USD

USA 04 40th Anniversary 16 - $25,000 USD or $27892 CND

Canadian boat dealers have always charged more, the dollar is so close now that you shouldn't be seeing the wild price differences you do, but they are still there.

Ummm, isn't the Canadian dollar worth about $.90 US now? Making those prices about the same???

My guess would be somewhere in the mid to high $80k range depending on options. I've heard that the prices have gone up recently though so who knows.

They are beautiful boats and worth every penny! I've got about 80 hours on ours already and we didnt have it in the water until early June.

You can't buy or sell money at the actual exchange rate. Banks set a buy rate and a sell rate, the numbers I posted are the conversions from Canadian to US dollars, and you can see as the price increases the difference becomes more significant....

It would be nice if Frank or one of the Donzi salesman would tell us what % of markup is in the 22c the 27 the 38 etc.
I didn't know the canadieene dollar was up to .90. Last time I looked it was about .74. How sad for the U.S.A.

Thats a unfair question.

I see a bunch of them on dealer floors. My guess would be make an offer and see what sticks. it all depends on the cash$$$$$$

Around 90 cents is correct.

I get a nightmare every time I read a thread like this.

When I went shopping (Winter Haven Fla) for new in 1987, I paid $24,750
(if my memory is right) and by the time I received it landed -including delivery, taxes blah, blah - I'd spent $42,000. No trailer.

The dollar difference was huge then and it's certainly part of the calculation, but there are other considerations as well.

But, I knew then and I still know now that IT WAS WORTH IT!

Trueser, Why is that an unfair question? You can obtain invoice pricing in the net for autos through KBB or edmunds why not boats?

I love the information age

A new 27 ZR will run you right around 95 to 100K. Donzi stopped production until December Januuary, they said the 27 ZR's were to heavy. They wanted to try and lighten them and see if they could get a little moe MPH's out of e'm.

Speed Boat Magazine has an excellent write-up (with pricing) in the latest issue.
