I've been doing a lot of research on my boat and was wondering if anyone else had any more info on it. Its a 1981 Glasply 18ft hull. I would love to know the history about it and how exactly the "donzi and glasply deal" went down. Let me know.

There is a lot of cool stuff on the site linked below. I grew up on a '66 14' Glastron semi-vee with a 65 Merc. Shoot, we were so young and light that we could pull TWO barefooters behind that thing! We ran that boat hard all summer long, and almost always at WOT. The boat is still in the family and still in great shape!

Our boat is a 1966 Glastron Jetflite V-143 Super Sport, just like the one at the bottom of the picture below. Here is the classic Glastron site:

Glasply 200. I think there was a different name for that hull, but at the time, I looked at them in a showroom HERE and bought a fish boat instead, yes, still a Glasply. 18' footer in '80.

Glasply copied the 18 hull to a "T" but I do not think the Hull Police were watching as we were in Canada, it was small potatoes, and had little market exposure.

I do not think they had any right or licence to do this, but all the "pops" do not either, unless altered. This one was not but the deck was changed DRAMATICALLY.

Does the pic below remind you of anything? Classic 18 Hull, no changes period. Only distinguishing factor is TERRIBLE glasswork and a line running along the gunwhales of these boats where they glassed in a storage shelf (on the inside) and through poor lay-up and design, telegraphs a lateral line down the hull :(

Have fun here :) It is a GREAT place...
