I came across this, and while I'm no engine builder, I couldn't help but wonder if there was any truth to this claim. Basically, that by using this specially ground cam, which allows you to swap the firing of 4 & 7 cylinders, you can experience more hp, a flatter torque curve, and higher torque.

I thought I would ask people much smarter than I am, if they had heard of this, or if it falls into the "mystery carb that got a 100 miles per gallon " my father's friend used to claim to have "tested for one of the big three" back when I was a kid.

There is a very good post going on up on OSO about it, http://www.offshoreonly.com/forums/showthread.php?t=141390

I read somewhere that there were other variations.
