So you have to be with Publlix for 27 years before they trust you with a new ride, huh?
Nice looking set of wheels Jim!!:eek!: :eek!:

Hey everyone, I told Jim he needs his favorite polish on his shorty to match the shine on his labbed prop!!
Wouldn't that look cool?Just imagine a mirror shine from the drive parting line down!!

Don't y'all agree?

Grocery getter or tow rig ?? Might not get 20 mpg. But it would turn heads.

Jimmy and Gina could shine that thing up so much, it would blind other people on the road. I'm bring some polish for them to take care of my trailer in Sarasota.

Swap in a set of 3.36 gears in the rear and it might get 10 to 12 mpg and still haul any thing that will fit in your driveway. Sweet looking rig, how bought some details.

In a former life (it seems like anyway), I was 1/2 of the engineering department at a medium sized fab shop in Houston. One of the functions we fulfilled was to build all of Schlumberger Well Services's odd ball, non production survey trucks and off shore survey cabs.
One of their orders was for four trucks intended for Saudi Arabia. These were International 5000 Paystar chasis with 15" deep, double rail frames, 6 X 6, w/ double reduction, locking differentials and humongous sand tires, a deep transfer case, 13 speed, 3 range Fuller Road Ranger transmission, and a Cummins NH series engine.
The rest of the truck was pretty interesting too. Behind the drivers cab was an instrument cab w/ four roof top air conditioners followed by a 42" diameter wire reel w/25000' of instrument wire. On the tail end of the bed was a base of a 72' folding mast. Underneath this were some 14' stabilizers, and jacks under the frame rails. The front bumper was extended 3' and carried jacks (visible in the pic) and a 15 KW generator driven off the engine crank via a short driveshaft.
Altogether there were six discreet hydraulic systems driving all the systems.
There were four fuel tanks and tanks for 200 gallons of water. These trucks would go to remote areas of the Saudi desert along with several support trucks and work for several days and log wells.
This picture was taken in December of 1978 (I think) in our yard in Houston. I was 34 years old. In those days I was just over 6' and weighed 180#. I'd like to weigh that again.

I had one of those too.
Actually, I only grew a beard when I went skiing in Colorado at Christmas. That's how I knew it was in December. The rest of the time I just had a mustache.
