Theres a custom made spinelli ss prop in the parts for sale ...Says it will fit a 270 or 280 volvo...Will it fit the 250? Owner says it will but i,ve heard that beforeand it wouldn,t fit....Also will a 250 h.p. 302 turn a 23" prop have a alum. 19 on now runs about 5200 rpm. Thanks Joe

My props fit all with the addition of the long hub noseconr and tyhe big exkaust trim tab changed. The spinelly should fit. My 16 with a 302 turns a 21 aluminum at 5000 not a 23 aluminum.

Without motor work, I think you may be disappointed jumping up 4 pitches. Due to that change, you are probably going to lose 700 RPM or more considering your going SS from Alum..

It has been my experience that because a stainless prop is more efficient, when I ran a stainless prop of the same pitch as my aluminum prop, the engine turned about 200 rpms less (18 2+3, 350 Chevy, Volvo 270 w/out power trim).
That being said, the effect on your rpms might actually be slightly more than if you just went up 4" of pitch.
