thought I'd share some snaps of a typical boating day. Yesterday dawned fine and clear so...
first two pics show the driveway geometry... she jussst fits :) and I mean barely
pic three: we arrive at the gas station and every petroleum CEO exhales a satisfied sigh
pic four: usually we have some time on our hands at this point
pic five: our local ramp... a real gem because its close, never crowded, and plenty long so low tide is never an issue... although the current can be some pucker factor at times
pic six: just outside the Hampton Roads entrance we're treated to the sight of a big deck coming in... and the H-60 escort sees us too and closes rapidly... funny how they never bother the sailboats or little fishing boats, even when they're closer :wink: .... 1000m away is the rule and we always respect that
pic seven: close up and personal with the H-60... he circled a few times, figured out we had no evil intentions and went on his way
pic eight: nice shot Darcy took of the Wisconsin on our way back in
we also saw a few really nice yachts and had a great day... beautiful weather.
Non-suckometer? pegged :yes:

Digger;
Great pics!
It looks like the Wisconsin is "open", is that correct? Is it worth the effort? Can you see all of it?

2 spare trailer wheels! Very impressive.

After caravaning behind him all the way to Florida, let me just say that he ought to be carrying 6 spares.

George, the Wisconsin is still in the inactive reserve, maintained by the USN, so you can't go inside the skin of the ship, unfortunately. That may change soon because the Navy and Norfolk are working the arrangements to turn the ship over to the city. If that happens, she may become a little more open to the public. I hope so anyway.

thanks for the comments on the truck. We really love that thing. The best part about it, of course, is finally having 4wd. Darcy's heart rate remains below red line now when we pull up the ramp... instead of the exciting wheel spinning we used to do. She has a big ol grin now as she ambles up the ramp as slow as she pleases :)

Boy of Bertrams is wise beyond his years... when I first got the trailer I just had a hunch one spare was inadequate... I was right!

Scott you're right ol faithful is still around... she's for sale but in no hurry to sell... (anyone need a great work truck pm me) oh, and birthday hug delivered :)
