they look like 40's....

both are different year's, at least from a complete cowling standpoint..

they should have come with bronze 2 blades

that was a very popular and reliable engine, with the mini hydro peep's

Eugene, is this from the late 50's?
I'm guessing from the styling and the lack of strakes on the hulls.

Looks pretty clean based on the ones I've seen. I'm sure you have done a search and found the whole world of " Cat" people. If not PM and I'll show you what I've found.

go for it.
my father in the early 1961- 1967 ? had a 20 'glass larson with with a 80 hp merc on the back with the same colors as yours. the only thing was that motor did not have netual. it was made that way. it was hard to dock but had a lot of power. are you going to try to run the motors on the back or get a new set of girls to push it.
good luck i like it thescooter

Thanks for the responses.
I was away for a few days to see Southside Johnny. He doesn't come out to the left coast that often.

The engines are Merc 400's with I am told are 45hp.
I love the look of the engines but there are some problems with them.
One needs a new starter and the other needs a new starter solenoid.
I know ABSOLUTELY NOTHING, NADA, 0, ZILCH about whackers, so I am leary about what is going to be needed to get these to run. Part of the beauty I see in this is the engines. They do have the original 2 blade bronze props.

What can I expect for performance with these engines?
Are parts totally obsolete?
I have not done my due diligence yet with research.
