Bittersweet, for sure. We all were secretly hoping that you'd get stuck with it forever and that when you died, we'd buy it from your widow for a dollar!!!!!!!!

:eek!:

That is one beautiful boat, Gene and I'm glad it's got a happy new owner.

Crap!!! Eugene...hope it found a good home. I am in the process of moving from the Jersey shore to Jacksonville. I will have some leftover $$ from the move, and a certain recently lower priced Magnum was on my list. Guess i missed the boat. No pun intended. Good luck to the new owner. hope you don't go boatless for long.

It went to a man who has had two Magnums previously and will be in good hands.
He was the first person that actually came and looked at the boat, and instantly wanted it. The new owner didn't even know it was up for sale on the internet since he doesn't own a computer. He found out about it from a mutual friend who told him I was thinking about selling the boat. It is staying on our lake and I can go out with the new owner whenever I want.
I couldn't have asked for a better transaction.

I have my Donzi 18 Classic all finished and dialed in, and I am also honing my sailing skills on a blow boat that I bought this year.

As far as my next project..... I am leaving my options open at this point.

At the moment, I think I will enjoy not washing and polishing a 27' boat twice a weekend. Anal, compulsive disorders can take up a great deal of free and not so free time.

Rootsy,

The Donzi is running great now. I had too many problems in the Spring trying to get the cross ram set-up working, so I put a single carb with a different manifold on the engine. I'll deal with the cross ram this winter.
This past weekend with some carb tuning I had the boat up to 71 mph on the GPS. I figure I can squeeze a little more with some prop tuning. I figured the existing prop slip I had was around 18.6 and I am trying to get to 13%.

Unfortunately, I have not had the time to do a good photo shoot of the boat.
I will get around to it in the next week or two and will post.

Regards.

I've drooled over that Magnum for years. I don't know whether to congratulate your, or send my condolences.

Joe,
It all good! It's time to move on and the boat is accessible for my use from time to time.

I saw this today on Craig's list.
I am thinking I could really trick this out!:pimp:

crossrams are fun... LOT of plenum, LOT of runner, isolated carburetors... lot of air capacity... best suited for LARGE cylinder head volumes and high rpm engines... CID doesn;t hurt either... but they sure do look cool ;)
ran an XF-8 on my 289 in my 64 cyclone.. didn't perform all that well but it sure did impress folks when the hood was up... actually i still have it... the intake and the car :)
I'll have to pick your brain when the time comes to try and make it work again.
You are right about it sure looking cool!
