i was wondering if anyone who has run an alpha ss drive on a minx could tell me if they noticed an increase in performance. also i was wondering if anyone who has had an ss drive on their minx had any problems planing off. thanks guys!
Ken (MINXGUY) had an SS on his, I did quite a bit of running with him. He will have to fill you in on WOT performance, I don't think it was much faster. The boat planed and handled just fine, he pulled it off due to the low water pickup plugging problem. The drive was a pain in the weedy St Lawrence waters, Murph had the same problem on his 22 with the SS at the first 1K run. It is worth going to a transom pickup with an inboard pump.

I ran an Alpha S/S strictly for draft issues. In the 3 years that I ran it absolutly no difference in top end. Ran the stock 23" cleaver. Ken
MinxMan, where do you run this mystery Minx ?
Sam he runs out of Cape Vincent at the mouth of the St. Lawrence.
Wow, that's a long way from Rochester Mich :eek!: .
