King Cobra Replacement

I Have A 1992 22' Classic With A 454/king Cobra And Am Considering A Complete Repower With New Mercruiser....does The Transom Cutout Need Any Reworking To Do This Or Is The Rumor True That The Cutout Was The Same For Cobra And Mercruiser?

If the King Cobra is in good condition, why replace it? It is stronger than a Bravo. Maybe a little less streamlined but not enough to matter - see Dr Dan's w/HP500 connected to a KC

I think it is the same cut out with just 2 additional hull through-bolts
