Its the newbies again!!

So...we got our reverse to stop grinding! we just had to put the unit down a bit farther! We kept it fairly high coming out of the docking ramp because it was shallow~

anyways...

1-SHOULD WE HAVE TO DO ANYTHING MORE THAN FLIP THE TOGGLE SWITCH TO TURN THE AIR CONDITIONING ON IN OUR CABIN?! WE TURN IT ON, EVERYTHING ELSE WAS WORKING, BUT THE AC WAS NOT WORKING. ANY IDEAS!?

2-ALSO..SOMEONE SUGGESTED GETTING AN OWNERS MANUAL FOR A SEARAY BOAT...IS THERE SOMEPLACE WE CAN GET THE OWNERS MANUAL TO OUR SPECIFIC BOAT?!! (1995 255 MEDALLION)

Thanks for ur help guys!!

 :bonk:

A few questions to get us on the right track ...
1)When you tried the A/C were you out on the high seas ?
2)Does your boat have a self contained generator ?
3)Does your boat have 'shore power' and were you connected when you tried the A/C ?
The answers to these questions will help us a lot .

we were in the slip when we tried the AC, and we do have shoer power and tried it when we were hooked up to it. It does not have a generator, and the previous owner does not really know, since it has been a year since he ran it, and his memory isnt very sharp.

Shouldnt there be a thermostat somewhere??

AC units in SeaRays operate on 120 Volt. That means you either have to be on shore power or have a generator running as your boat only operates on 12 volt. To operate the AC you will have to turn the AC Unit switch on as well as the AC pump switch on which circulates the cooling water through the condenser coil. You should be able to see the water coming out of one of the ports in the hull. If you are not getting H2O circulating through the condenser you will get warm air coming out of the vent instead of cool air. The AC unit switch needs to be on and the thermostat needs to be set at a lower temperature then the inside air temp to turn the fan unit on. If the fan unit comes on, and the H2O is recirculating and you still get warm air you will likely have to have a tech recharge the condenser with a refridgerant and ck for leaks.
