The V-10 has a lot more potential even though the cubes are limited. I read where Ilmor said they were going slowly because reliability was #1. If the motors get a bad rep then no-one will buy them. Wait til they build a SC one!

Isn't it difficult to vapor lock an injected engine? Unless, of course, the injectors are bleeding the pressure down.

Carl,
Usually that takes place in the intake manifold, but in a injected motor?. :rlol:

This is the first time I have heard of any problems with the Ilmors..... I know some early ones, had some small issues... but not the 625's. Haven't read anything from the guys on hotboat or oso who have them...... nuttin but kuddo's.

Doc is correct....38ZR 625's vapor lock at the lunch stop forgot to raise the hatch to let the heat out... I think it was because Air 22 was riding in the boat he screwed something up..:) :) :bonk: :bonk:

what do I know but wouldn't 6300 RPM quickly toast a Bravo drive - and most others?

Not only the RPM's but the motors are supposed to have GOBS of torque....It will be interesting to see what kind of motor/drive packages are offered/suggested...

Back to the vapor lock.....I would bet that particular engine had a regulator or injector leaking down.....maybe just enough in the right conditions.

Vapor lock is hardly a catastrophic failure. More of an annoyance that should be easy to fix.:alligator

No, no, no.... I'm not talking about the MV-10 625 HP Ilmors.

I am talking about a new motor Ilmor about to release called the 7/10. The HP has been raised to 700 ish HP and max RPM went up to 6300......

I saw an ad for an '07 33' Eliminator that will be rigged with them.
