Big Block Heads

Has anyone upgraded the stock mercruiser heads . I have a 97 454 carbed engine all stock and looking to upgrade for better flowing heads and cam, it does not matter if they are alum or steel. Jeff

What hp rating,300 330 or 365...got a pic of your engine?300 or 330 have cast internals and will ware quicker if any mod are done....If you have a 365hp then you have somthing to work with..its your call on which heads you want to go with if it were me i would go with alunimum for the weight savings + theirs more to choose from in a alunimum head...
