Are those AIR VENTS on the drives before the props? Interesting...

Yes.
They are needed to aerate the high pitch props in order to get on plane....

The air allows the props to break free and wind up to a higher rpm to get the boat moving...

From the looks of the picture prior to the turn, they were running the boat very wet. The owners want to blame the adding of 400 pounds to the boat caused it...

The verdict is still out...

The corners on the river are very tough because of the 7 knot current that runs that river tends to pull boats in directions the drivers don't normally expect... That too may have played a role.....

Well, hopefully they have all the bugs worked out by tomorrow.... ;)

Speculation is still out on whether or not they will be racing....

If they are, whether or not with or without the added weight was still a question...

The Crew is in Orange Beach AL today with the weight!

They are coming out to race and prove that the weight isn't going to keep them from winning!

What was the end result? Heard a couple different versions :(
They won until they were found to be under weight. :eek!:
With a 1 minute penalty they got 2nd.

From what I have been hearing from other sources, somewhere between 80 to 90 pounds..

Sounds like they might have miscaculated the amount of fuel they were going to need. It's about 7.5 gallons per side that they came in light.....

You are either under or you are not.....

I am happy to see OSS is sticking to enforcing the rules.
