Hi, I am new to this forum.
I am looking for a 18 - 22' Donzi. Can't go new or even close to new ($).
What is the construction of the boat ?
Do they have cores ? (balsa, foam)
I would assume plywood floors and saw a thread about a balsa deck.
Recently sold my '87 34' Scarab, Innovation 468's w/ blowers, B/W trans, TRS drives.
I bought it off of Wellcraft's back lot as an empty hull and did all rigging/drilling myself.
Well, with allot of expert advise !!! No interier in the nose.
Fast, likes big waves but about 2 miles to the gallon.
Now I have a Hydrostream and am recoring/flooring. (scary fast !!!)
Looking for something between the two.
So what kind of structural stuff do I need to be aware of ??
thanks

I can only speak for a 1986 22, hull solid every place I have drilled 3/8" in the thinnest areas to near 1/2" in some. When installed my pop up cleats I found the deck aft to be balsa cored but the fore deck is multi layered glass and foam sandwich. The smaller Donzi's seem to all have balsa fore & aft, they all are well built and a bit above average.
