We were fortunate to have Tom West and his family at the Lake Harris get-together last weekend. They were actually here for the National Council of Corvette Clubs Annual Convention in Orlando. I trundled on down to Sebring on Wednesday to watch him race:convertib ! Pics in order, see Tom's thumb~~Getting Serious~~At the Autocross Start Line~~TAKING OFF~~Between the Pylons~~Between Runs~~Tom the III taking a picture of his mom, Barbie, and his sister~~Tom on the Famous 3.7 Mile Sebring International Raceway. He took second place in his class in both the autocross and on the track:checkered :checkered !! Lots of noise, and lots of fun. Congrats Tom!!

Way to go Tom. Autocrossing is a TON of fun. Don't know how you'd drive a vette with all that torque, but i used to get the 911 into second and do the whole course from there. I miss having the time to do that stuff, but at least I have a couple of souveniers :)

Thanx guys. I gotta tell ya, Brutha Jeff is right, I have had my butt out of the saddle for quite a while and I needed more seat time to make it happen, just wasn't able to pull the money shot! I thought I had a better chance in the autocross, and as it turned out, I was within a half second out of first on the road course. Not bad when you consider we were making a lap on the track in 2:44.33 min. and the leader was at 2:43.79.
Nice decorations McGary, I have quite a few to dust myself! I met this really cool cat working turn 17 at Sebring who gave me a bunch of tips (trackwise) and he's a PCA member as well (go figure). Even better, he and I feel the same way about SCCA. I have been racing Corvettes for 11 years now, But playing with the Donzi for the past 4 years has done a lot more for Barbi and I and the kids.
....and Jeff, I would get away from the Hoosiers if I could, but they're the only thing that works....just wish the hell I could get a deal on those things, they won't budge on price...they got me:smash:
It was very nice of Phil to come down for a day and grace us with his presence in his very shiny V-12 Mercedes and slum it with us lowly Corvette folk:rlol: :biggrin.: It was great to see you, wish I could have shown ya some gold instead of silver!
