Tracing a HIN?

Hello all.......I thought you guys may know more about this subject than on other forums.

I'd like to find out more history on my '74 Magnum 27 Sport and was curious if there is any way to do a trace on the HIN?

I'm dying to find out who owned it and where it's been.

If you have a hunch what state it came from you may be able to run a title search with the DMV. That should give you all of the owners in that state. I know that Florida offers this service.
