When did Donzi quit offering anything bigger than a 5.0 litre in the 16? Also, when did they quit offering the wrap around seating in the 16?

I'm a new guy....
I own a 1997 16 with the L-seating and i feel that it gives more room. I'm 250lb guy so.. that could do with it. My boat has the 5.7L and it is great! The boat blows the 4.3L out of the water! I have never seen any other 16's with that motor yet! So i think they are hard to find.

Thanks for the info. 1. I believe all classics should come with an V-8. Sorry 4.3 guys, but that was how Don Designed them and anything less is just another boat, but at least it is a good looking boat. 2. I believe all classics should at least have at least captians choice exhaust if not full thru-hull. Donzis were not just meant to be seen, but heard and felt as well. Just an opinion.

L-seating and 5.7L (240hp) were still available into 2002 on the 16C. After that, not sure when they stopped the L-seating and the 5.7 and limited it to the 5.0.
L-seating appears to be a nice eature, but NOBODY enjoys sitting there in rough water at speed - nothing to hang onto, riding side-saddle, and the passenger ends up sitting behind the driver and causing weight & balance issues. If you are using it by yourself, or strictly for sunshine and skiing, then it is fine.

Madcow- How fast is your Donzi. Standard Alpha or SS? Just curious so I know what king of numbers I can expect. I am also at 6000+ feet and will lose about 20% of my horsepower.

Haven't I seen a stock 16 with a 351 Ford and OMC Cobra drive? Seems I did but I don't recall the year - formerly Hotboat's out of Morristown TN
