Tech Question.

I am running the 377 scorpion with Bravo1xz drive.I would like to find out if the zerk fittings located on the out put shaft to lubricate the outdrive shaft rotate.The are very difficult to reach and I would be intrested in installing remote fitting to make service easier.

i assume that you are referring to the shaft from engine to sterndrive? this is the input shaft for the sterndrive. there is a zerk to lubricate the coupler spline. This hollow tube with zerk extending toward transom from the bellhousing is actually part of the coupler and spins with the engine... just bump the motor over to index it so that you can reach it.

personally i prefer to remove the drive, check the u-joints and splines... check alignment and gimble bearing and clean and apply new merc spline grease ( heavy blue grease) to the splines... if you just pump grease into the zerk and get too much in the splines it can work past the o-ring and sling all over the engine compartment.
