Are there conversion kits to allow a SX lower unit to be mated to a AQ 280
drive?

Matty is correct. The conversion kits you may have head of are to convert a std sx to a sx-dp (DP-s). There is also the 290 to dp conversion... The 280 & 270 were similar & shared many parts. The sx or 290's do not... :) Jamie / Lakeside

Eventhough you cant do what you are asking about you can get an idea of the conversion costs at the bottom of this page.. Caution! they are pricey... :)

Keep in mind the Volvo 290 can replace the 280 as the transom cut out is larger. More of a square thing. And you get trim and tilt and a few more prop options. If you were going to redo the transom cut-out anyway, I would tend to lean towards a black unit...

Lenny while that may be, I think he meant he wanted to convert just the lower part of the Leg over to a dp.. ??? Or maybe I misunderstood...

Anyway have a good weekend....:) Jamie

I was thinking about just the lower unit, but thanks for responding,
I am very new to the restoration thing. All input is very appreciated,
I know I'll have other questions.
