I was gonna buy a 1988 F33 AND just got off the phone with the guy that did the survey and he said the starboard side rear has moisture in the stringers:( SO NEEDLESS TO SAY I DON'T THINK IM GONNA BE BUYING THIS BOAT AND NOW I GOTTA PAY $450 FOR THE SURVEY:boggled: TODAY IS NOT A GOOD DAY:smash: :mad:

The seller won't lower the price to cover the cost to redo the stringers?

be happy that it only cost ya $450. to find this out.

well here is the deal........he said he would lower the price a little bit, but i really do not want to get myself in a maintance nightmare which i think i may turn out to be....... i was gonna pay $30k for the boat but i may offer him $25k im not sure yet, i am up in the air about this one.......im prob gonna keep lookin' around....

Did the surveyor say how far the moisture had traveled, it may not need a full section replacement. The other question would be is teh transom also wet, that makes for a bunch more work. Most builders including Donzi rarely isolate the stringer from the transom wood, when we put mine together we built a 1/4" layup buffer so one can not get the other wet.

They're all wet.
Every last one of them.
Let us know if you find one that passes as dry.

I dont think 5k will cover that job. Most likely you will need to redo the transom and stringers.

How far forward did the water travel?
