I'm trying to prop a completely stock (260HP Alpha One drive) without
trying every prop at the prop shop. I don't ski so I'm not a hole shot
kind of guy. Most of my boating is betweem 3200 and 3500 RPM.
I do want to go as fast as I can while cruising though. The prop that
the boat came with is a cleaver type which is modified. It is a 21
pitch and I don't know the diameter. It's obviously been modified
because when I took it in for reconditioning the guy gave me that
where the heck did you get this P.O.S. look.
It tachs out at 4800 RPM and I can get about 50 MPH out of her.
I was just wondering if there's anyone out there who's Minx is still stock.
Three blade, four blade, cleaver...No preference here. Thanks in advance!!!

Ken (MINXGUY) will see this soon, and tell you what he has on his bone stock Minx. It tops out a tic under 60, cruises like a charm, and gets out of the hole well, too.

Ken (MINXMAN) ran a 21 cleaver on his it ran 60, personaly I do not like the cleaver it made my 22 very twitchy at low to mid range. Ken should chime in on Monday he only plays computer from work.

I beleive Minx man has more than 260 HP.If I remember that engine was a stock option on sea rays and everybody else. It was a 350 plain Jane and would push a 19 footer between 48 and 53 mph on a good day. I just did 22 Four winds liberator wirh that power and we used a 19 Turbo1 at 5100 and about 51 mph. So maybe you could do a 19 or 21 TurboI

I've had good success with a turbo 23. B ut I'm currently running a Hydro Q4 22. I like it a lot. It's very stable. For that matter, so was the Turbo.

You knew it was just a matter of time before I saw this thread. The boat has a bone stock 350 Mag 270 horse small block. I have a 23" cleaver and the boat will run in the low 60's. I feel the prop works very well with this boat. with 4 adults is planes rather quickly and no blow out. Ken

I run a 23 cleaver on mine, when it runs at all. :(
