I just bought a 1988 F33 with twin 250 Johnson's on it. What I was wonderin' was, would I be able to tow it with a 2003 Ford F-150, 5.4 liter, 4x4??? Im thinkin' probably not but what do you guys think??

Thanks in advance

It will pull it fine, I pulled my heavy azz 302 Formula with my 99 F150 4x4 5., but stopping it is problematic at best. I never pulled it faster than maybe 50, right after I bought the boat, I went to the F 250 Psd.

Did you buy the black and white F33 from FL? I think it was called "Foot Loose".....Congrats on your new boat!

yes the trailer has brakes......and no i did not buy "footloose" i looked at it but i bought a different one........i don't plan on trailerin' it every day, just to pull it in and outta the water and in the winter i have to transport it to a different location so i can offshore fish:propeller :propeller ............IM ONE EXCITED MOFO:pimp: :pimp:

Chromey,

Or, both?? :D :D :D
I don't know what picture he is talking about either. I'm sure a Chebby C60 would be up to the task.

You can go to the tech section @ www.trailerlife.com to find out what your truck's tow rating is and go from there.

For what you wnat to do I would not sweat it, just take it easy, use low low in & out, leave room on the highway and keep your eye open for the idiots! We all forget what we used to tow with years ago some small engined rigs and pretty big boats, travel trailers etc. we are now spoiled but also s bit safer.

K - you'll have to forgive Chromey...He's little "SEN-SA-TEVE" about wearing a bowtie.

F150 4X4 can pull it out...in 4wheel drive.

I've pulled Jefe's Revenge...smaller than yours...with 1/2, 3/4 & 1 tons...all Fords, and there is NO comparrison. F350 is the way to go.

you can get away with a F150 for the short trips, just HEED the ADVICE given here...IT WILL NOT STOP QUICKLY...even with trailer brakes.

for that winter run...find a friend with a BIG DOG

thanks for all the input.......i have decided to pass on buyin' the trailer, im just having the boat transported here, and for my winter trips it looks like im just gonna have to bring the boat down by water:boat: :boat: .........i should have the boat by july 20th just in time for some tuna fishing........lovin' it :pimp:
