I read in Speedboat Magazine that a new product called the X-factor was coming out. This is a standoff box with an integrated hydro steering. It is supposed vertically adjustable like a stellings box but done hydraulically. The indicated retail is around $8,500.

Does anyone know about this? I went to the site in the article Mastry.com and did not see any new products like this.

It sounds pretty cool. Imagine being able to adjust the x-dimension, get a 12" standoff box and have hydraulic steering in the same setup. Hmm Being able to move around the drive height like a bass boat!

I know it very well. It is good for 11 MPH on a 22 Classic.
I have seen this product under development first hand for the last 7 years.
It is one of the reasons I picked my board name.

Details, details. The article said that they had been involved in some testing with Donzi. Any idea on when it will be available? It sounds like a cool product.

Ted great to see they are finally letting it out of the bag, I just checked the properties on the photo I have it was from Dec 04. By the looks of it back then I figured it had some serious time in developement, sure will be interesting to see one of the guys try it out.

Heck. I will take both! I already got the blower. It should be a grand slam on smaller boats. I would like to know how it works on the longer ones. I looked at my lower unit when driving at 65mph (don't worry I was not driving) and my foot was buried. I am thinking that a variable X would be good. This is a cool idea.
