The alpha 1 in my '87 Z-21 gave up the u-joints which in turn broke parts on the outdrive, gimball, and inner housing, pretty much everything.

I have a good 350 mag, steering, tilt pump and rams.

I found a good buy on a take out alpha gen 2 package.

My question is can I use this, will it bolt to the engine in the same place in the boat? Is the transom hole the same? Can I use the old cylinders, pump, engine, and steering?

thanks, Matt

yes,yes,yes.....everything should work..you just have to add a drive fluid resivour on the engine...
gen 1 are through bolted, gen have studs in the gimbal housing ,about the rams, they look the same but gen 1 have nuts on the ends and gen 2 have c clipes that hold them together. you should replace the ruber seal on the gimbal housing..
