Janet got tired of getting beat up on Galveston Bay in our TBred, so she said "I want something BIGGER!" (Still talking boats here...:) )

So we found this... a 38' Stryker 3800 Thunder with twin 415 Merc 502EFIs. We're very happy with it so far. It definitely smoothes out the bumps!

Congrats on the new boat. What can you tell us about it? It's got pretty unique lines, almost looks like a Fountain Stern and a Nordic nose .

Very cool...

Thanks EricG!

Stryker built only eight of these before they went out of business. (They built tons of 29's and a few 32's.) I spoke with a former owner of the company, (who also still owns a 38), and he said the hull was a Top Gun splash and the top deck was proprietary. It seems to be really well built. It weighs 12520 on the trailer (cert CAT scales)!

It jumps on plane better than any boat I've ever owned, just effortless and with NO tabs... hull seems very efficient.

The boat has 195 hours on original power (it's a 1993 model). Engines run great, and is pushed by 26" Mach Sterndrivers on Bravo drives.

it is a nice ride for sure, and I've been in Flats boats that took longer to plane...wow. Also it has a sweet profile at speed. Jimmy Done Good.

What he didn't say was the new ride rquired a new tow ride as well.

Janet got her new Ride and So did Jim:biggrin:

Is that the same stryker that built big sportfish boats?

Nice looking....:)

I thought it looked a lot like a Nordic too.
Congrats!

Good eye, fellas! There is definitely a connection between Stryker and Nordic. The old Nordic Heat (28') was produced from the mold of the 28 Stryker Equalizer.
